If you've ever heard a photographer mention "magic hour", you may have wondered what the hell he or she was talking about. A picture is a picture, right? Light is light, right?
Wrong. There's something incredible about that last half hour or so (Come to think of it, magic "hour" may be a misnomer!) that makes for some magical photographs. I was fortunate to be invited to photograph Idle Hour Country Club this Fall and found myself on the tee of the club's signature hole, the par 3, 18th, at just the right time. Idle Hour is a classic design, built in 1912, that remains a beautiful testament to why we play this game. THIS is magic hour on a magical course.
