Wildlife on a golf course is something that adds value to a golf experience, as far as I'm concerned. Not always, of course. I remember playing golf in Reno one summer about 10 years ago on a course that was absolutely covered up with marmots. Literally dozens of them on each hole.
Apparently, marmots live underground about 10 months a year, but for the two months they're out, MAN are they out. They weren't at all aggressive or threatening. Kind of cute actually, sunning themselves on the rocks, enjoying their annual 60 days of sunlight. But a 15 pound rodent will get your attention. And when you see them everywhere you turn, it's a touch disconcerting. But I digress. This photo has absolutely nothing to do with marmots!
I was outside Sparta, Tennessee last week, shooting photos on RiverWatch Golf Course when I saw this doe and her fawn. I'm no wildlife photog, but I like this shot anyway! So there!
