Trenton, Georgia
Just minutes off Interstate 59 less than 25 miles south of Chattanooga, Trenton Golf Club is a beautiful, scenic, short golf course with plenty of elevation changes, some water and tight landing areas... enough to challenge any golfer's game.
Though it´s under 6400 yards long from the tips, this is not a course you can overpower, and it should definitely be on your short list of courses to play. Placing your ball in the proper locations is key to scoring well. And the greens? Well, the greens are wonderful. This beauty will give you all the challenge you want, and will reward you with a great round of golf, no matter how you score.

Trenton Golf Club was designed and built in the early 90´s by Doug Porter, and was originally known as Air Castle Golf Club. The name came from some friendly teasing Doug's father gave him when he was a boy. When his dad caught him daydreaming... something he apparently did quite a bit... he'd say, "What're you doing, son? Building air castles?" And though his dad had passed before the course opened, Doug still felt the name was fitting, so for its first years of existence, it was known as Air Castle Golf Club.
One of the true pleasures of creating Hidden Fairways has been meeting men like Doug, who tackle the huge challenge of designing and building a course with little or no previous experience and succeed in creating a course that is unique, beautiful, and that holds up well over time. I've walked many owner-built courses that look and play like courses built by beginners, but that is not the case with Trenton Golf Club. This is a course I could play again and again. And again.
The current owner, Ben Frizzell, and GM, Jim Holloway, are doing an excellent job of carrying on where Doug left off. Trenton Golf Club is very well maintained, with excellent grass in the fairways and great greens, thanks to yeoman's work by Superintendent Josh Higgins and his crew. Plus, green fees are very affordable and the golf shop staff is friendly and welcoming. When you play Trenton Golf Club, you'll feel like you're visiting old friends. Friends who just happen to have a wonderful golf course in their back yard! Trenton Golf Club is a genuine asset for its community. Much of its play comes from Chattanooga golfers, but given it's proximity to I-59 and the fact that it's a such a standout course, this is one you should put in your list of courses to visit soon.
